The Birmingham-born midfielder's contract with the Terriers expired at the end of the season. He was offered a new deal by boss Chris Powell but has decided to leave.
A statement released by Huddersfield said: "Discussions have been held with Oscar Gobern over a new contract.
"The club's option to extend the midfielder's existing contract for a further season was not exercised and he is now free to seek another club."
A tough-tackling midfielder, Coventry and Crewe are also believed to be interested in the former England Under-19 international.
Saddlers manager Dean Smith has already confirmed he's among his summer targets.
