Richard O'Donnell signs for Wigan Athletic
Walsall goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell has signed for League One Wigan on a free transfer.
The 26-year-old will join the Latics on a three-year deal when his Saddlers contract expires at the end of July.
Walsall announced yesterday that their player of the season had turned down a new deal at the Banks's Stadium and Wigan, who were relegated from the Championship at the end of the season, announced his signing today.
The signing is subject to O'Donnell passing a medical at the DW Stadium next month.
Latics manager Gary Caldwell said: "I'm delighted Richard has agreed to join us.
"There were a number of clubs chasing his signature and we had to move quickly to get him because we had identified him as a potential target.
"He's at a good age and fits in with the profile of ambitious players we are looking for and he will be a quality addition to the squad."
