Gr-eight win for Saddlers second string
Walsall's reserves went goal crazy as Amadou Bakayoko netted four times in an 8-0 win over Wrexham at Chasetown's Scholars Ground.
Jordan Murphy opened the scoring, before Bakayoko netted the first of his four goals.
He completed his hat-trick before half-time with Murphy netting again and Reece Flanagan getting on the scoresheet.
That made it 6-0 at half-time with Bakayoko and Jake Heath scoring in the second half as out-of-favour winger James Baxendale played for 90 minutes and hit the crossbar late on.
"We were extremely committed, organised and professional," said reserves boss, Richard O'Kelly.
"It was an incisive and creative performance where we were ruthless and took our opportunities.
"A new system was thrown at the lads and they adapted really well to it. To score eight goals at any level is an achievement and it was pleasing to see.
"It's been a good week for the club with the youth team winning the Midland Youth Cup on Monday, the first-team performing well at Swindon on Tuesday and now this."
