Jordy Hiwula desperate to get Saddlers firing

Jordy Hiwula is backing Walsall to quickly get their play-off challenge back on track – after describing Saturday's defeat to Port Vale as a 'kick in the teeth'.

The Saddlers saw a four-game unbeaten league run come to an end as Tom Pope's goal condemned them to defeat at the Banks's Stadium.

On-loan Manchester City hitman Hiwula was involved in the game's big turning point when he appeared to be pulled down by visiting defender Ryan Inniss in the box when the game was goalless – but referee Andy D'Urso chose not to award a penalty.

The 20-year-old admitted the defeat was tough to take but believes the Saddlers have the character to swiftly recover, as they turn their attentions toward this weekend's trip to Bradford.

"It is a bit of a kick in the teeth but we need to carry on, get over it and try and win next week," he said.

"When you lose a game, it plays on your mind.

"Win and you just move on but when you lose a game you start thinking of how you could have done better in the game and what you could have done differently.

"We just have to get over it and move on."
