Dean Smith: Walsall's draw was a fair result
Walsall manager Dean Smith admitted it was a fair result as his side recorded an impressive ninth clean sheet of the season at Coventry City.
It was the Saddlers' sixth goalless draw of the campaign in League One so far, as they once again kept things tight at the back.
But they missed the goals of injured top scorer Tom Bradshaw going forward, as they drew another blank at the other end.
A point does help Smith's side climb into the top half of the table, with the Saddlers boss saying: "It was a fair result, in the end.
"We had some good dominance in the first-half where we got into some decent areas and had we scored at that stage, it would have been game over.
"They were always a threat because they are a big, physical team and we had to defend a lot of balls into the box after the break.
"The positive is that it is another clean sheet but, with our dominance of the first-half, it was disappointing that we couldn't also leave here with three points.
"We're a difficult team to beat and whilst we know that we need to score more goals, things are progressing well.
"It's another point and now we have the chance to recharge our batteries before our next game."
