Walsall's Dean Holden linked to Oldham
Walsall player-coach Dean Holden has been linked with the post of first team-coach at Oldham.
The 35-year-old centre-back is reported to be in talks with Latics boss Lee Johnson over a possible move to Boundary Park.
Holden joined the Saddlers in 2012 and has been player-coach since 2013, signing a new deal in the summer.
He has made five appearances this season and has previously stressed his desire to continue his playing career.
But the chance to move to a club nearer his Manchester home, coupled with the challenge of stepping up to first-team coach will be tempting to the defender, who made 125 appearances as a player for the Latics between 2001 and 2005.
Oldham boss Johnson has been looking for a new first-team coach after Paul Murray left to become Hartlepool manager. Johnson and Holden briefly played together at Chesterfield in 2011.
