Walsall have been dealt a blow ahead of tomorrow night's trip to Rochdale with top scorer Tom Bradshaw ruled out.

The 22-year-old striker, who has bagged five goals this season, was forced out of Saturday's clash with league leaders Bristol City after just 35 minutes with a hamstring injury.

Bradshaw, who missed two games last month with a similar injury, will now undergo a scan to ascertain the extent of the problem.

"Tom felt it as he struck the ball, so we took no chances and replaced him as soon as we could," said Saddlers boss Dean Smith.

"Hopefully, it's just a strain, he's going for a scan on Tuesday just to make sure that there is no tear.

"It means that he won't be available at Rochdale, but his absence gives someone else the opportunity to come in and show what they can do."
