Tom Bradshaw has 'scent of goals' for Walsall

Walsall manager Dean Smith believes Tom Bradshaw has the 'scent of goals' in his nostrils as he prepares to welcome back his leading scorer for tomorrow's clash with Doncaster.

Bradshaw is back from injury to face Rovers at the Banks's Stadium with Smith excited to be able to field his four-goal summer signing again.

The 22-year-old has scored four of the Saddlers' six League One goals this season but missed the last two games with a hamstring problem.

Smith said: "He's got the scent of goals at the moment and he will be looking to add to his tally on Saturday.

"We always knew he was a good player but he's proved he's better than that. He's got a fantastic attitude and applies himself really well in training to any new thing you offer up to him.

"He's like a sponge. He wants new information all the time and goes on to the pitch and puts it into practice.

Attitude

"They've all got ability, otherwise they wouldn't be here, but his attitude drives him on and you can see he just wants to go and score goals."

Smith also has defender James Chambers back tomorrow, while striker Jordan Cook and full-back Ben Purkiss could return next Saturday when the Saddlers host Bristol City.

Smith said: "I think tomorrow will be too soon for Cooky to be involved because of the training he has missed but we will have half an eye on the Bristol City game and we have got a (reserve) game against Stoke next week so he will be looking to play some part in that.

"Ben is the same as Cooky a little bit in that they had their injuries at similar times so in terms of match minutes they haven't got much behind them.

"James is fine as he has only missed three weeks. He's kept his fitness up and he's done all pre-season and played a few games already this season, so he will go straight into the squad.

"There is light at the end of the tunnel injury-wise."
