Billy Clifford: Goals are coming for Walsall
Midfielder Billy Clifford today claimed Walsall will find the goals to go with "fantastic" football.
The Saddlers failed to score in Saturday's League One home opener with Bradford City as they were held to a 0-0 draw.
But ahead of tonight's clash with Yeovil at the Banks's, Clifford has expressed his confidence that it is just a matter of time before the goals start to flow.
"At times, our football was fantastic," said the former Chelsea man. "One and two touches, playing it wide, getting crosses into the box, we just need that finishing touch.
"We work on that in training and hopefully we will get the goals. It will come.
"We just lacked that end product on Saturday and we will work on it during the week and hopefully we can get a good result tonight."
Clifford admits to being pleasantly surprised at the quality of the Saddlers play, having joined on the eve of the season after negotiating his release from Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old is determined to feature as much as possible, after being handed his first start for the club against the Bantams.
"I just want to play as much football as I can and, having been with the team for a short period of time, hopefully we can progress and have a really good season," he said.
"The standard has surprised me. When you come to a League One club, no disrespect, some managers want to play football Monday to Friday but when it comes to Saturday, it's more pressure.
"But the players get the ball down and move it, one or two touches, it's fantastic to be part of.
"Anthony Forde came up to me after the game and said how surprised he was at the quality of the play. It's something that I really enjoy and all the other players do."
Meanwhile, Sheffield United boss Nigel Clough claims he has no plans to send former Saddlers skipper Andy Butler out on loan.
The 30-year-old defender raised eyebrows when he watched his old club play on Saturday, after not being involved in Sheffield United's game at Coventry.
But Clough said: "We have no plans to let him go."
