The 22-year-old, who was born in Birmingham, will join up with the squad for their three Group Six matches against Lucia, Guyana and Dominica.

Two teams from the group will continue on to the second round in October, with eight finalists competing for the trophy a month later.

Sawyers represented the Sugar Boyz in the same tournament two years ago, featuring in all three games as well as scoring in their 2-0 victory over Anguilla.

He said: "Whenever I have joined up with the squad it's always been a great experience. We seem to gel together well even though we don't play together week-in-week-out.

"It's not the biggest of countries so the talent pool isn't as big as other Caribbean countries.

"There's a few of us that play in England, not any higher than League One, but lots of players who have been at academies at a younger age."

The talented wide man has started the first two games of the season for the Saddlers, but is set to miss the League One encounter with Colchester United.

He said: "The biggest thing is the climate. Being overseas it's a lot warmer out there and you have to adapt.

"It's still competitive and the players are as passionate and as hungry to do well. It's a good experience for me."
