Dean Smith: One more signing for Walsall
Walsall manager Dean Smith today admitted he is close to completing his summer dealing.
The Saddlers boss is keen to bring in one more attacking player before declaring his dealing done.
The capture of Anthony Forde from Wolves earlier this week brought his number of signings this summer to seven.
And, with several players due to return from the treatment room in the coming weeks, Smith believes he has assembled a competitive squad.
He said: "We are after one more and then that will be it for the summer, unless I get injuries in the backline where I need to go and get someone on loan.
"The new lads have come in and the good thing is I know when I get the injured back we will be strong too.
"Ben Purkiss should be back by the end of the week, Jordan Cook is set to come back in and there is still Sam Mantom.
"And with Anthony Forde now as well, I feel we have a good, competitive squad who can really go and do well in this league."
Supporters will get the chance to meet four of the squad this afternoon.
Richard O'Donnell, James Baxendale, James O'Connor and Craig MacGillivray will take part in a signing session at the Banks's Stadium shop from 2pm.
