Walsall midfielder Adam Chambers today stoked the fire for the pre-season reunion with his old club Albion by making an admission - he's a Wolves fan!
Chambers started out and spent six years at the Hawthorns from 1999 to 2005, playing in the club's first-ever Premier League season of 2002-03.
The 31-year-old's path consequently led him to Sheffield Wednesday, Kidderminster Harriers, Leyton Orient and to Walsall last summer.
Although Albion is where he is best remembered, Chambers was born in Wolverhampton and revealed he's always followed his hometown team.
He said: "Albion was a long time ago for me now, I enjoyed my time there and that was where I started, so I have some great memories.
"I am actually a Wolves fan, but I still enjoyed my time there! I just enjoy football. It doesn't matter about age, I still try and play like I when I was 18.
"There are different pressures of playing for different teams, like the crowds, but I love playing. It doesn't matter how many people are there."
Chambers lines up for the Saddlers as they welcome the Premier League visitors tonight after pre-season games against AFC Telford, Wolves, Kidderminster and Burton Albion.
Dean Smith's men start their competitive campaign at home to League One rivals Brentford at the Banks's Stadium in the Capital One Cup, which is starting on a Saturday.
Relegated Doncaster then come to the Banks's Stadium next Saturday for the league kick-off and Chambers, after Walsall finished 19th last season, expects an improvement.
He said: "Pre-season has been a lot of hard work, all aiming towards that first game and I want to stay fit and try to play in as many games as I can.
"We are looking to play some good football this year and see where it takes us. It's difficult to set targets but there's a lot of improvement to come.
"We had a lot of games last season where we dropped points late on last season, so maybe we under-achieved a bit."
