Andy Butler today insisted Walsall's young guns are future stars and can make the grade at the Saddlers.

The skipper reckons Aaron Williams, Malvind Benning, Kieron Morris and Ben George will become big parts of the club's future.

The quartet signed their first professional deals last week, after defender Jamie Tank joined Wolves, to boost the Saddlers' threadbare ranks.

Lee Beevers became the latest to quit the club when he joined Mansfield on Tuesday to leave Walsall with just six senior players.

But Butler insisted the new kids on the block can follow Jamie Paterson and George Bowerman by making an impact.

"If they take their chance like Bo and Patty they will have a lot to look forward to," he said. "They will get a lot of chances if they keep going well in training. It's there to be taken for them.

"If they knuckle down they've got bright futures. It's about not getting ahead of yourself and listening to other people. It's about you concentrating on what you do. When I was a lad I couldn't do 10 kick ups when I started at Scunthorpe.

"It's up to you to knuckle down, ignore what some people are saying but listen to the ones who can help you. You want someone who is going to help you – not leave you by the wayside.

"Aaron has given me the run around in training a couple of times so he's got a bright future and we'll be able to get him involved a bit more

"Mal played in first reserve game a couple of years ago when I signed and he's got a lot of promise. He's got a lot to look forward to."
