Mat Sadler today urged Walsall to rip the heart out of Exeter as he targeted one more win for survival. The left-back reckons Walsall can claim survival heaven in Devon and relegate Exeter in the process.

The Grecians, eight points from the safety line, will go down if they fail to win, with the Saddlers three points above the League One drop zone.

And Sadler insisted they must take their chance with safety within their grasp.

"It will be completely different against a team who aren't safe and if you take their heart away from them we can go and get three points," he said.

"It's not mathematically certain but with three games to go you'd like to think one more win would see us home.

"I just wish the game was yesterday so we could have got it signed and sealed to make us safe. It will be a hard week but we will definitely be ready for Saturday and I can't wait really. It's not doom and gloom but we are disappointed after losing to Tranmere."

But the 27-year-old insisted the Saddlers cannot rely on fourth-from-bottom Wycombe slipping up in their tough run-in.

The Chairboys, three points behind the sixth-from-bottom Saddlers, go to already promoted Charlton on Saturday with the Addicks looking to seal the title before hosting play-off hunting Notts County and third placed Sheffield Wednesday.

"Charlton could become champions on Saturday but they are already promoted so who knows what frame of mind they will go into the game with," said former Birmingham ace Sadler, with Walsall facing Huddersfield and MK Dons in their final two games.

"It's not the ideal run-in for Wycombe and I'm sure they are thinking the same but it's about what we do. If we get the three points that will be us more or less OK. We can only think about beating Exeter on Saturday."

Meanwhile striker Will Grigg hit four goals in the Saddlers reserves' 6-3 win over Burton at the Banks's Stadium yesterday.

Richard Taundry and Anton Peterlin made their return from injury while the Saddlers handed a trial to striker Nicolas Celeste. Jake Jones and Connor Deards also scored in the rout.
