Walsall boss Dean Smith today backed Adam Chambers to be fit to drive his side to League One safety.
The midfielder was ruled out at the start of the month with a cut heel before the wound become infected.
And Smith insisted Chambers will be given the next week to boost his fitness before Saturday's visit of bottom side Chesterfield.
He said: "We won't be rushing him, we will make sure he's right so hopefully he can be ready for us for the Easter weekend.
"The inflammation has all gone now but he's a little bit behind. If you think about it, it was a while ago and he's had a lot of antibiotics to settle the infection down.
"What we don't want to do is throw him straight back into the fray and for it to rear up again.
"Rochdale was a game too soon for him but, if he gets another week, we have got the Easter weekend where we have got two games."
