Walsall boss Dean Smith today revealed his snow woe after abandoning his car following a scouting mission to Wycombe.
The Saddlers chief was forced to leave his motor and walk four miles home after Saturday's heavy snow shower.
He had watched Wycombe's 2-1 win over Tranmere, ahead of the Chairboys' visit to the Banks's Stadium next Saturday, after the Saddlers' trip to Scunthorpe was called off.
"Saturday gave me an opportunity to go and watch Wycombe but unfortunately it led to me abandoning the car and having to walk the last four miles home," he said.
"The weather got that bad on the way back, I got back to Sutton but unfortunately the car wasn't going any further and it was gridlocked so I pulled up and left it.
"I went and collected the car the next morning. I left it on a side road and went through Sutton Park late at night – which I wouldn't advise many people to do but it was the only way home.
"It was just really bad on Saturday night and Sunday morning. Fortunately for me I had a pair of trainers in my boot but they didn't go very well with my suit when I was running home."
Smith watched the Chairboys fight back from 1-0 down to win and dump the Saddlers, who host Colchester on Saturday, back into the League One drop zone.
He added: "They did OK, it could have gone either way. Tranmere hit the bar twice and had a couple of shots cleared off the line. Wycombe's front two were quite lively and (Stuart) Beavon has scored a few goals this season."
