Walsall v Scunthorpe match off in freeze

Walsall's League One trip to Scunthorpe was frozen off today as sport felt the effects of icy weather.

Referee David Webb called off this afternoon's game at Glanford Park with temperatures not forecast to rise above freezing all day.

Kidderminster Harriers' FA Trophy clash against Luton at Aggborough was also called off and will be played on Tuesday (7.45pm).

Bournemouth against Exeter, Sheffield United's clash at Colchester and Oldham versus Leyton Orient have been called off in League One along with Preston v Brentford, Stevenage's trip to Notts County, Bury versus Hartlepool and a host of League Two games.

And Stafford Rangers' home tie against Bradford Park Avenue has also been postponed due to the weather.

Wolverhampton's Dunstall Park came to the rescue of TV racing fans as Channel 4 moved cameras to this afternoon's meeting following the loss of Wetherby, Sandown and Ffos Las.

All-weather racing survived at Lingfield and Wolverhampton, where an extra meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday.
