Walsall were today left hopeful that their League One game at Scunthorpe tomorrow will go ahead - despite a pitch inspection being called.

The Glanford Park playing surface will be assessed by match referee David Webb at 9am tomorrow, ahead of the 3pm kick-off for the match.

But the pitch has been covered for most of this week and was in a playable condition today, with the inspection called as a precautionary measure.

Temperatures are expected are to dip further tonight and dropped to minus three in Scunthorpe last night.
