Dean Smith's Walsall Twitter warning
Walsall boss Dean Smith today issued a Twitter warning to his squad that they must not overstep the mark.
Boss Dean Smith today issued a Twitter warning to his Walsall squad and insisted they must not overstep the mark.
The Saddlers boss admitted he dislikes the social network site but will not police it to cut his players some slack.
Manny Smith and Jimmy Walker joined the Saddlers' growing Twitter ranks this month and Smith has reminded his men to behave.
"They've been told anything which brings the club or game into disrepute they'll be in trouble for," he said, with Jamie Paterson, Alex Nicholls, Oliver Lancashire and loanee Andy Halliday big users.
"They have to be very careful with what they are saying. I've never been a fan of social networking sites. It just gives faceless people a voice.
"Maybe I'm a bit old school and like face-to-face. It takes the communication issue out of it and people don't talk to people because they can type to each other and say what they want. I'm a face-to-face person.
"I don't look but it certainly gets back to me because I have a teenage son who will have a look."
