Kevan Hurst today handed struggling Walsall a boost after returning to training following six weeks out.
The winger has been sidelined after breaking a bone in his heel against MK Dons in October but has upped his recovery and rejoined the squad for full training.
He is unlikely to face former club Chesterfield on Saturday but could be back for the Saddlers for the Boxing Day visit of Sheffield Wednesday.
Boss Dean Smith said: "Kevan joined in the warm-up on Monday and started training with us on Tuesday. It's good news for us.
"He's a player I wanted to sign when I was with Martin Ling at Leyton Orient and he's been important for us."
