Manny Smith today revealed Walsall have gone into overdrive to solve their winter woes and insisted the team are still "winners".
The defender admitted the Saddlers are putting in extra hours to end a run which has seen them win just twice in 18 games.
Saturday's 1-1 FA Cup draw with Dagenham extended their unbeaten run to three games and, with Walsall in the League One drop zone, Smith insisted they are working overtime.
"In training everyone is buzzing, everyone comes in early and everyone is doing extra – we just don't want to lose," he said – ahead of Saturday's visit of leaders Charlton. "If the worst comes to the worse we'll end up with a draw but we don't want to lose games.
"The fact we're three unbeaten is more to take but we've got to turn the draws into wins. But the longer we aren't losing then that's a positive.
"All the boys are winners. Even when the odds are against us we still work hard and play together as a team."
