Walsall ace Jamie Paterson has vowed to drag the club out of danger after pledging his future to the Saddlers.

The 19-year-old inked a new two-and-a-half year contract last night which ties him to the Banks's Stadium until 2014.

Paterson follows Will Grigg, who signed until 2013 on Friday, in committing to the Saddlers after breaking into the side.

And now the forward wants to rescue Walsall's season after they dropped into the League One relegation zone on Saturday.

He said: "I'm happy to get things sorted. I can now concentrate on my football and helping the club push on up the League One table.

"We have an important period ahead of us and I want to play my part in making it a successful one for the club.

"I have the chance to really establish myself and I will be working hard so that my game will continue to develop."
