David Grof warns Jimmy Walker he wants to keep Saddlers No 1 spot
Walsall goalkeeper David Grof today warned Saddlers legend Jimmy Walker he is ready to replace him – even if it means denying him a shot at history.
Walsall goalkeeper David Grof today warned Saddlers legend Jimmy Walker he is ready to replace him – even if it means denying him a shot at history.
The Hungarian wants to nail down a starting spot after a starring role in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Huddersfield.
Grof replaced the suspended Walker for the Galpharm trip to produce a man of the match display.
Walker is just 11 games short of equalling Colin Harrison's Saddlers appearance record of 530 but Grof insisted he wants to keep his place.
He said: "I told him I came here to get into the team and be No 1. I'm just working for it. I know it's a long road but I'm on it."
