Walsall manager Dean Smith today insisted he calls the shots but admitted he will "live and die" by his decisions.

The unflappable Saddlers boss believes his methods will pay off and guide the team away from danger.

Smith came under fire this week for having not included David Grof on the bench when Jimmy Walker was dismissed in the 2-0 defeat to Milton Keynes Dons and for being sent off for arguing with the referee.

But, ahead of tomorrow's trip to Huddersfield, the manager insisted he will stand by his opinions.

Smith, who escaped any FA punishment after his dismissal, said: "The beauty of this game is that everyone has an opinion, but what I enjoy about this job is that it's my opinion which counts."
