Walsall youth boss Neil Woods today revealed the Saddlers' young guns are catching the international eye.

The club's head of youth admitted England youth selectors had watched his kids after their stunning start to the season.

They are fourth in the Football League Youth Alliance North West Conference, after seven wins and a draw in their first eight games, standing two points behind leaders Burnley with three games in hand.

A 1-0 FA Youth Cup first round win over Milton Keynes Dons last week enhanced their reputation further.

Woods said: "There will be the national scouts and the big boys watching. The have been to some games but I don't want to build pressure on the boys."
