Mat Sadler today admitted Walsall blew their chance at Tranmere and warned they are running out of excuses.

The left-back insisted the Saddlers tossed away a precious point after Mustafa Tiryaki's late strike saw them go down 2-1 at Rovers on Saturday.

They have now won just once in 10 games in all competitions and, after defeat left them 17th in League One, Sadler admitted they only have themselves to blame.

The ex-Birmingham defender said: "That should be a 1-1 away draw and we should come away looking forward to beating Exeter tomorrow.

"Now we've lost where we really felt we shouldn't have lost the game, so we have to go and beat Exeter."
