Anton Peterlin today refused to blame Walsall's goal-shy hitmen for their striking woes and pointed the finger at the whole team.

The American insisted the midfielders must carry the can for the Saddlers' lack of creativity after they netted just 12 in their opening 12 League One games.

Walsall are the joint third lowest scorers in League One with Ryan Jarvis and Will Grigg best with three each.

The Saddlers host Preston tomorrow sweating on the fitness of veteran two-goal striker Jon Macken.

They are currently 18th in League One and Peterlin claimed the whole squad must take the blame for their failings.

He said: "The fact the strikers are not scoring is our fault as well because our service hasn't been as great as it should be."
