Walsall midfielder Richard Taundry today vowed to win back his spot after revealing his hurt at being axed.

The Saddlers ace has been dropped for the last two games, after previously being ever present under manager Dean Smith this season.

Taundry played in the reserves' 2-0 defeat to Port Vale yesterday and admitted being benched has left him wounded.

He said: "It's the worst feeling ever when you're playing and all of a sudden you're out of the team. It's about picking yourself up and working your way back in.

"It's the gaffer's decision, not mine so it's something I have to live with. It puts you on a bit of a downer but there's not much you can do, except for work hard."
