Walsall midfielder Richard Taundry today fired a warning to the Saddlers and insisted they face another season of struggle if they fail to stop their slide.

The 22-year-old, part of last term's Great Escape, admitted the 2010-11 horror show is still fresh in his mind and knows the Saddlers cannot afford a repeat.

They go to Colchester tomorrow winless in four games and 16th in League One and Taundry said: "It will come and you always say 'it will come in time' but, as we saw last season, we haven't got time to let it just happen.

"It's something we've tried not to look into early in the season but, being here last year, it's always going to be in the back of your mind. It's something none of us want to happen.

"You are still going to make the same mistakes now and again but the point of training is to help us cut the little mistakes out.

"We need to be looking at the things we need to be doing and take it from there."

The Saddlers addressed their mini-slump with a meeting this week and Taundry insisted their spirit can carry them through.

He said: "The bond with all the lads is a lot tighter. It's not the team and then the management – we are all together."
