Walsall manager Dean Smith today refused to play the blame game and insisted there will be no trial by TV at the Banks's Stadium.

The Saddlers have lost three on the spin but Smith won't hang his players out to dry ahead of tomorrow's visit of winless Scunthorpe.

The manager has been showing his squad clips of their positive play to boost their flagging confidence and insisted his side will stay positive.

Smith said: "There was the old saying when I was playing of 'video killed the football star' – we're not into that.

"We're not going to show them all the bad stuff because people make mistakes all the time.

"There's plenty of good stuff in games which they need to see. Some of them need to see it in videos and some need to see it on the training ground.

"All people learn in different ways, some need to learn on the television, some need to be told about it and bigged up and some need to be shown on the TV.

"We will find different ways for each player."
