Walsall manager Dean Smith has branded Saddlers new-boy Adam Chambers a "steal" and insisted he was stunned rivals Leyton Orient let him go.
The midfielder is set to make his debut at Greenock Morton tonight and fellow signing Ryan Jarvis has labelled him as one of the best players in League One.
The Cappielow clash will be the first chance for fans to catch a glimpse of the Saddlers' five new summer arrivals, including Chambers.
And Smith reckons he has landed a bargain in the former Albion trainee.
He said: "I was amazed Leyton Orient were prepared to let him go, to be honest. He's a steal for us. He'll be a good player and very valuable member of the squad for us.
"Adam is a machine. I played with him when he was on loan at Sheffield Wednesday and I was assistant manager for him at Orient.
"He's a model professional, he's the best at repeated sprinting in a match I've ever seen. He's a great addition.
"I think a few Orient fans who I've spoken to said he's had a few injuries but he was available for 40 games last season, so that can't be too bad."
