Julian Gray today revealed he isn't setting any targets in Walsall's race to beat the drop.
The flying winger is eyeing Tuesday's crunch showdown with relegation rivals Dagenham at the Banks's Stadium on Tuesday but insisted he won't look long-term.
Relegation rivals Bristol Rovers have targeted 54 points for survival while the minimum required to beat the drop in the last three seasons has been 50 points.
But Gray has dismissed the thought of any aims and is taking things slowly.
"I haven't really thought of a points target, I just want to win as many games as possible and get as high as possible," said the 30-year-old, who has scored seven goals this term.
"Collectively we're taking a game at a time. We need to beat those teams around us.
"You have to be positive. We've got the belief we can survive and that's the attitude you have to have. It's showing in our performances."
The Saddlers have improved under boss Dean Smith to give them a fighting chance of staying in League One and he puts their form down to hard graft.
"It's just about hard work from the players, they have worked really hard in training," said Smith. "We've tried to make it enjoyable but still hard work, we're encouraging all the time."
