Loan midfielder David Davis has revealed his desire to stay at Walsall and rescue the Saddlers' season.

Manager Chris Hutchings has already confirmed his intent to try to extend the Wolves starlet's loan spell, which expires next Saturday, and Davis has pledged his loyalty to the Saddlers.

They host Yeovil tomorrow searching for their first win since August and the 19-year-old has given the struggling club a boost.

He said: "Of course I would like to stay, I'd love to stay for as long as possible. The more experience I get then it will only benefit me as a player.

"I want to play as many games as I can. I'm coming up to my last year at Wolves and the more games I have here the better chance it will give me at Wolves.

"It's been a great experience, the four games I have played in I've benefitted from a lot.

"Last year I played League Two football at Darlington and it's quite a big step to League One but I think I've adapted quite well."

The Saddlers have slipped into the relegation zone following five straight league defeats before Tuesday's goalless draw at Leyton Orient.

And Davis admitted he feels a sense of duty to help his temporary employers out of the bottom four.

He said: "I want to help the team get out of the situation we are in.

"It's better for me, because I'll get more games and experience and I can help the team to get up the table.

"The players we've got here and more than capable of being higher - and we should be - but when things aren't going well they don't go your way, so hopefully now we can push on."

Following the morale-boosting point, Davis is in bullish move ahead of the Glovers' visit knowing a win can revive the Saddlers' season.

He said: "I think we'll win, well have the home crowd behind us and it's all about three points.

"As a team we all feel confident and tomorrow we have to bring it into action."
