Aligning with this year’s Air Ambulance Week – a national campaign that raises awareness of the lifesaving work carried out by air ambulance crews across the UK - the partnership reflects the club’s ongoing commitment to supporting causes that matter to its players, supporters, and the wider Hednesford community.

Midlands Air Ambulance provides rapid, pre-hospital emergency care to critically ill and injured patients across the region, often in rural or hard-to-reach locations.

Hednesford Town had their own experience with an air ambulance during their successful play-off final against Congleton Town last season. A supporter took ill shortly after the final whistle and had to be airlifted to hospital by a Midlands Air Ambulance helicopter.

The charity receives no government or NHS funding for its daily missions and relies entirely on donations to operate.

Club chairman and co-owner Craig Gwilt said: “We’d already chosen Midlands Air Ambulance Charity as our partner before the play-off final in May – but that afternoon reinforced why it was the right decision.

"Seeing their helicopter land at Keys Park to deliver urgent medical care made it very real for everyone here.

“This partnership is about making a lasting commitment to a service that matters deeply to our supporters and our community.

”As part of the partnership, the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity logo now features on the sleeve of the club’s home and away shirts – a visible and lasting reminder of the cause embedded in the club’s identity.

"The club has committed to a formal donation at the end of the season, with fundraising efforts already underway."

Amanda Gwilt, co-owner of Hednesford Town FC, added: “As a family and as a football club, we’re proud to support the air ambulance. It’s one of those services you hope you’ll never need – but when you do, you’re incredibly grateful it’s there.

“We’ve already seen how much this partnership means to our supporters, and we’re looking forward to building on that throughout the season.”

Carl Williams, Community Fundraising Lead at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: "We’re thrilled to be the club's chosen charity for the year; it’s a great honour and reflects the sense of community that derives from Hednesford Town Football Club.

"It’s especially meaningful to announce this news during Air Ambulance Week, a time dedicated to celebrating the vital work of air ambulance charities across the UK.

"The donations we receive will help fund future lifesaving missions across Staffordshire.”
