Former Chelsea and Leicester City defender Frank Sinclair has been revealed as the new Hednesford Town boss.

The 44-year-old joins the Keys Park outfit just hours after they announced the sacking of former boss Bernard McNally.

Sinclair, who has non-league experienced with Colwyn Bay and being in caretaker charge at Brackley Town, is expected to lead training tonight and will take charge of Saturday's trip to Stalybridge Celtic.

The Pitmen have been struggling under McNally, who took over in September but only oversaw one league victory.

That poor run of form saw Town drop to 18th in the National League North, just one point clear of the relegation zone.

Sinclair had a spell on loan at Albion in the 1991/92 season, where he played six times.

He will be joined at Keys Park by assistant Chris Millington, who he has previously worked with.

On his appointment, Sinclair said: "Chris Millington is someone I have worked with for the last year at Oldham Athletic, he is a very experienced coach and I am hoping that he will help me improve the players, organise the team and make us hard to beat."

"I'm pleased that it has come around now and I think I'm ready for the job, I have been helped along today very much by the Chairman and we have left no stone unturned regarding the squad, the football club and the supporters and what is expected here.

"We have got a lot of hard work to do and it is something that I am really excited about and I think it is a great platform for myself to go again and to try and improve on field results for Hednesford."
