'Five cup finals ' - Richard Ball vows Lye Town will give their all for play-off push
Richard Ball says his Lye Town will push to reach the Midland Premier play-offs - but feels no pressure to do so.
The Flyers sit ninth in the standings, well within the highly competitive play-off race, just four points off the final spot.
This season marks Lye Town’s first back in step five non-league football following last year’s relegation, which Ball says was always a campaign to consolidate.
But ahead of hosting Coton Green, who are a place below them tomorrow, he believes there is no reason the club can’t aim for an immediate return to the level above.
“It’s very tight," said Ball. "There are a few more twists and turns to come.
“We have five cup finals left, and we are going to give it our best shot to try and push to get into the play-offs.

“But there is no pressure on us as management or as a team to make them. The lads have worked hard in the past three or four months to put themselves in this situation.
“Let’s get over the final hurdles, see where we are and what we can achieve this season.
“I have got a lot of lads with a big future if they can fulfill their potential. The potential is sky high.
“This season was always about consolidation as a football club and building for when we are ready to push again.”
