Town sit seventh in the North West Counties League Division One South, five points adrift of the play-offs but with games in hand on Ashville and Sandbach United in the final qualifying spots.

With six games remaining, boss Wall insists each is a must-win for his side, who host Allscott United in their penultimate home game tomorrow.

He said: “I’ve done the thing that managers do. I’ve looked at the run-in, I’ve got everybody’s fixtures in a list and I genuinely think we can do it.

“If we can go on a run, we’ll be in form at the right time. So it’s boom or bust really.

“If we go and do it, we’ll be in massive form and we’ll be hard to beat at the right time.

“But if I’m being totally honest, we’re one bad result - maybe two at a push depending on other results - away from just having to write it off and go again next year.

“We just have to win games. We’ve put ourselves in a situation where we’ve got no room for manoeuvre, no slip-ups.

“We’ve got to be catching ground on people, so if somebody slips up, we’ve got to be winning.

“The fact we’re at home helps, we’re getting decent crowds again, and I want to make sure we can finish the home season in style.

“We have to win on Saturday and I’ll be saying the same next week and the week after.

“Until I know we’re in the play-offs and the job’s done, it’s quite literally a cup final every week.”

Meanwhile, league rivals Wolverhampton Casuals welcome Ashville. The Cassies have moved eight points clear of the danger zone after back-to-back wins at the start of the month.

In the Hellenic League Division One, second-placed Bewdley Town will look to secure a seventh consecutive victory at Cheltenham Saracens as they continue their title challenge.

Also in the play-off race, Lye Town visit Whitchurch Alport, while third-placed AFC Wolverhampton City travel to Tividale and 13th-placed Stone Old Alleynians go to Studley.

Elsewhere, in Midland League Division One, leaders Gornal Athletic travel to Coventry Copsewood looking to continue their remarkable form. Stuart How’s side are unbeaten in 19 league games.
