Lye sit seventh in the Midland Premier, unbeaten in their last five matches in all competitions and having tasted defeat just once since the start of October.

The Flyers have also netted 15 goals in their last five games, and ahead of hosting Romulus tomorrow, boss Ball is keen for their purple patch to continue.

“We’ve turned a bit of a corner, we have gone on a decent run,” he said. “But, I am under no illusions that football can unravel as quickly as anything.

“I was always hoping that this run would happen with the lads we have got at the club.

“It’s been good, they have got some great results, and they have been grinding a couple. Long may it continue for us.

“We are scoring quite a few goals at the moment, it’s great. Lye Town is a good place to be at the moment, the changing room is bouncing, the lads want to be around each other and have a great bond.

“Every player has brought something to the party and they are reaping the benefits of it.

“I always say that nothing is won on this side of the season, but the league can be lost. We just take one game as it comes.”

“It is a cup we have got used to, and one that we want to stay getting used to. We are looking forward to it.”
