‘If this is our wobble, I’d hate to see us firing’ - Adam Wall confident Stafford Town still in title hunt

Stafford Town boss Adam Wall says if his side’s recent form is their “wobble”, then he would hate to see them when they are firing.

Town sit fifth in the North West Counties League Division One South and are winless in their past three league outings.

However, ahead of hosting Ashville tomorrow - fresh from an impressive 3-2 win over Stoke City in the Staffordshire Senior Cup in midweek - Wall remains confident his side can turn things around.

“I am trying to keep everyone composed because if this is us when we are going through a ‘wobble’, then I would hate to see us when we get going,” he said.

“We haven’t had great results recently, but we don’t get beat often.

“We are six points off the title with a game in hand. We are well and truly in the title hunt and have barely laid a glove on anybody in the last month in terms of results.

“So I am really pleased with where we are, disappointed with results, but we will put it right now we are getting some bodies back.

“We are a good team this year, and we are still in the title hunt even after a month of not winning the games we should have.”

Wall admitted that an injury crisis has hampered his side in recent weeks, but he was thrilled with their performance against a young Stoke side.

He added: “I was really proud. It was a proud moment for me, the players and the club as a whole.

“They showed us respect and played some well-known lads, some who have been in the first-team.

“Not only was it a good night for the club, but a good performance as well.”
