Marine sink Yeltz

Hapless Halesowen did little to ease their relegation worries after a disappointing 1-0 home defeat against lowly Marine.

The first half proved to be a non-event with only Luke Wall creating any real danger with a couple of dangerous crosses for the visitors.

By contrast, Halesowen failed to trouble the visiting defence at all.

The first meaningful effort for the Yeltz finally came with a low 53rd minute shot from Nathan Walker from the edge of the area after the ball was cleared off the head of striker Mo Diop.

Marine then snatched all three points when Alfons Fosu-Mensah lashed home a wide-angled shot off the far post in the 54th minute.

Substitute Adam Skeldon connected with a 71st minute cross from James Bennett-Tindall, but his shot was saved at the foot of the post by Paul Phillips in Halesowen's best attempt in a dour display.
