Report: Tividale 1 Spalding United 1
Tividale earned their ninth draw of the season against a Spalding side whose sights are on the Evo-Stik Division One South play-off places.
There was nothing between the sides and, if anything, the visitors took the lead against the run of play.
The goal came on eight minutes, when Tividale left-back Scott Devlin failed to get any distance on his headed clearance.
The ball dropped nicely to Tom Waumsley and the striker took a couple of touches before firing past Tividale keeper Tom Turner.
For the remainder of the half, goalmouth action was at a minimum as the two sides cancelled each other out. But, on 33 minutes, Tividale were back in the game.
Tividale right-back Lewis Wright picked up possession on halfway and hit a crossfield ball to Chris Rabone who was brought down by Spalding defender Paul Walker as he raced into the box.
Top scorer Chris Sterling stepped up and netted his 15th goal of the season, when Michael Duggan dived to his left as Sterling stroked the ball to the goalkeeper's right.
The visitors had a good chance on 41 minutes when captain Nathan Stainfield rose unmarked to Dan Lawlor's corner, but headed over the bar.
Tividale started the second half with possibly their best move of the game.
Shane Grainger and Rabone played a neat one-two and Grainger whipped in a low cross that Sterling met first-time, only for his shot to be blocked.
Spalding's Dan Banister unleashed a great run on 52 minutes, but could not trouble Turner with his shot.
Sterling then saw his looping header cleared off the Spalding line. Then Banister did find the net, reacting fastest to a deflection from a Jamie Graham free-kick, but was offside.
The game then petered out with both teams cancelling each other out and neither keeper troubled.
