Mick McCarthy to jet back for Nottingham Forest talks

Former Wolves boss Mick McCarthy is set to fly home on Monday and step up discussions to become Nottingham Forest's new manager.

The 53-year-old spoke to Forest's new Kuwaiti owners yesterday and has agreed to cut short a holiday in Portugal to return to England after the weekend.

The Al Hasawi family sacked manager Steve Cotterill within a day of taking charge on Wednesday.
