Aston Villa new boy update for Far East tour
Unai Emery’s men are set to begin a Far East tour of three countries.
Villa are jetting out to the Far East as pre-season preparations ramp up - with new recruit Alejandro Garnacho in tow.
Unai Emery’s side face a long haul from the United Kingdom initially to Indonesia for a friendly on Saturday, before taking in legs in Thailand and Hong Kong.
The travelling party include latest addition Garnacho, despite the Argentine not being risked in Tuesday night’s 4-2 friendly defeat to Real Sociedad in Walsall.
Garnacho, who has checked in on a season-long loan from Chelsea with a ‘conditional’ obligation to buy, will travel with colleagues to the Far East region and could sample his first minutes as a Villa man on Saturday.
The 22-year-old winger trained with new colleagues for the first time on Monday.
Skipper John McGinn returned to training after a World Cup break this week, but also did not feature against Sociedad.
There was still no sign of Boubacar Kamara as the midfielder continues his ACL injury comeback.
Emery’s side tackle ‘Indonesia All Stars’ in Jakarta on Saturday (1.30pm) before a clash with BG Pathum United in Thailand on Tuesday (1.30pm) and Bayern Munich at Hong Kong’s Kai Tak Stadium on Friday week (1pm).
