Villa twice came from behind to beat West Ham United 3-2 at the London Stadium to climb five points clear of fourth-place Chelsea.

Their latest success brought up the Villans' 10th win in their last 11 Premier League fixtures, but Emery has refused to be drawn into talk of a potential title challenge.

"We are not feeling under pressure, we are feeling ambitious and we try to challenge in Europe and in the Premier League," the Spaniard told Sky Sports.

"Enjoy each match, try to prepare then rest. The players must feel comfortable doing it.

"This is the process we are doing. Now it is Manchester United [on Sunday]."

Matheus Fernandes scored the quickest goal in the Premier League this season after 29 seconds, before Villa levelled courtesy of an own goal by Konstantinos Mavropanos in the ninth-minute.

Jarrod Bowen restored the Hammers' lead on 24 minutes, but a second half double from Morgan Rogers completed the comeback to clinch maximum points for Villa.

Rogers scored the winning goal with an outstanding strike from 30 yards out to extend his season tally to five goals.

And Emery believes the nature of his strike was borne out of the confidence that is flowing through the squad at the moment.

"I believe in their qualities and their confidence, so of course, shoot," he added when asked about Rogers' winner.

"I like how the players are responding, how they are getting the challenges we are sending in the dressing but now everything is done and we go again."
