Steve Bruce to continue Aston Villa commitments this weekend following death of mother
Steve Bruce is expected to be on the touchline this weekend despite the Villa manager's mother passing away this morning.
His son Alex broke the news on Twitter saying that Sheenagh was now, 'at peace after suffering a terrible three months with illness.'
He also asked for his father to be given some privacy over the next 48 hours, but confirmed Bruce would be in charge for the final day trip to Millwall this Sunday.
The club also offered their 'deepest condolences at this very difficult time' and also asked for the 'family's privacy to be respected.'
Ex-Villa midfielder Ian Taylor led the tributes as players both past and present sent their best wishes following the sad news.
Only two months ago Steve's father Joe died during a time where he was caring for Sheenagh while she was "seriously ill".
Bruce has guided Villa into the Championship play-offs this season and will face either Middlesbrough or Derby County in the semi-finals.
