Jonathan Kodjia injury 'not too serious' for Aston Villa
Villa are optimistic top scorer Jonathan Kodjia will be fit the Easter weekend double header after the striker was forced off with a dead leg at Burton.
The 27-year-old grabbed his 19th goal of the season when he fired Steve Bruce's team ahead inside the opening three minutes at the Pirelli Stadium.
But his participation was cut short when he was forced off nine minutes before the break after picking up a dead leg.
Villa host Reading next Saturday before travelling to Fulham on Easter Monday and boss Bruce is hopeful Kodjia, who needs only one more goal to become the club's first player since 1981 to score 20 in a league campaign, will not miss significant time.
"He's got a dead leg, we don't think it's too serious," said the boss. "He was sore. We certainly missed him.
"He's made a huge difference to us. When you analyse the awful spell we had it was when he was away.
"He's on a great scoring run at the moment so long may that continue. We hope he will be alright for next week."
Kodjia has now scored eight goals in his last eight games but his strike was not enough to earn Villa a fifth successive victory, as Lloyd Dyer's second half goal earned the Brewers a deserved 1-1 draw.
