Villa have been in the market for a new striker throughout January, and after interest ahead of deadline day, Brentford have agreed a deal with Villa in a deal worth £12m.

Hogan has reportedly agreed terms and will undergo a medical before completing the deal.

It's also reported that Rochdale, from which he joined Brentford will receive a cash windfall through a sell-on clause in the 24-year-old's contract.

Scoring 14 goals for Brentford this season, Hogan has been one of the Championship's top-scorers so far this season.

Bruce seems to have moved on from Middlesbrough's Jordan Rhodes, who looks likely to move to Sheffield Wednesday, but Hogan is now his top target, with Villa able to fund the bid thanks to the anticipated departures of Jordan Ayew and Ashley Westwood.

Meanwhile, Bury defender Jacob Bedeau has signed with Villa in a deal worth a reported £600,000.

The 17-year-old defender was linked with a host of clubs in and around the Premier League, but Villa are set to seal the signing of the talented youngster.
