January transfer window: Aaron Tshibola leaves Aston Villa on-loan to Nottingham Forest
Villa midfielder Aaron Tshibola has joined Nottingham Forest on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old, a £5million signing from Reading last summer, had seen only limited action under boss Steve Bruce and has been allowed to depart in order to get more game time.
Tshibola has made only ten appearances in all competitions for Villa and just four since Bruce replaced Roberto Di Matteo as manager in October.
A January recruitment drive which has seen the likes of Henri Lansbury, Conor Hourihane and Birkir Bjarnason was meanwhile likely to further limit his opportunities between now and May.
Tshibola becomes the fourth player to depart Villa Park during the transfer window, following the £6million sale of striker Rudy Gestede to Middlesbrough and the loan exits of Pierluigi Gollini to Atalanta and Aly Cissokho to Olympiakos.
Further exits and arrivals appear certain before tomorrow night's deadline with Villa close to selling striker Jordan Ayew to Swansea in a player-plus-cash deal which will see left-back Neil Taylor arrive in the Midlands.
