Aston Villa transfer news: Neil Taylor signs as Jordan Ayew joins Swansea
Villa have signed left-back Neil Taylor in a player-plus-cash deal with forward Jordan Ayew joining Swansea.
The Welsh club have completed a deal which sees the Swans pay Villa £5million for the £9million-rated Ghana international, with 27-year-old Taylor also included as part of the transfer.
Taylor has penned a four-and-a-half year deal and spoke of his delight at joining Steve Bruce in the West Midlands.
He said: "I loved my time at Swansea but I'm looking forward to this new challenge in my career.
"You only have to look at the facilities, the stadium and the fanbase to know that this is a huge club that deserves to be in the Premier League.
"I spoke to James Chester before the move and he had nothing but good things to say about the club so I'm looking forward to getting started."
Wales international Taylor will provide competition for Jordan Amavi in the left-back position.
Meanwhile Ayew, who has scored ten goals since joining Villa from Lorient in the summer of 2015, is one of several players boss Steve Bruce was prepared to offload during the January window.
Meanwhile striker Ross McCormack is believed to be closing in on a loan move to Nottingham Forest.
