Westwood has been one of Villa's mainstays over the past few seasons, having joined the club from Crewe in 2012.

Making over 140 appearances, the 26-year-old midfielder has scored five goals at Villa, but is reportedly set to head to Turf Moor in a deal worth £5m.

Burnley were linked with a move for the Englishman previously, but have now reportedly firmed up their interest as they aim to bring in their man before the deadline.

Westwood regularly split opinion at Villa Park, drawing criticism from fans throughout the club's relegation season, but also praise for his hard work in a tough situation during his time in B6.

Meanwhile Villa have also reportedly made a £9m bid for Scott Hogan.

Hogan was a target for several Premier League clubs during the January window, but following Steve Bruce's failed bid for Jordan Rhodes Villa have made a move for the in-form forward.

Scoring 14 goals for Brentford this season, Hogan has been one of the Championship's top-scorers so far this season.

Bruce still retains an interest in Middlesbrough's Rhodes but Hogan is now his top target, with Villa able to fund the bid thanks to the anticipated departures of Jordan Ayew and Ashley Westwood.

Defender Neil Taylor is poised to complete a move from Swansea which would see Ayew moving in the other direction. Villa will also receive £5million as part of the deal which will see Taylor, who was due to undergo a medical on Monday night, become their sixth signing of the window.
